Jem (French: Bill) is an American miner who appeared in Tintin in America in The Adventures of Tintin series. He is first seen with his partner, Slim, as they work to ensure the safety of the railway by preparing to blow up a boulder with dynamite. Suddenly, they hear a train approaching and realize they need to detonate the boulder immediately. They successfully explode it, but Slim quickly realizes that the train is on a collision course with the dynamite box, resulting in an explosion. Afterward, they search for Tintin, Snowy, and the farmer, who are all safe and unharmed.
