IDW Publishing is an American comic book company founded in 1999, which specializes in the adaptation of properties from other media such as Transformers, Ghostbusters, Star Trek, Doctor Who and various others. From 2012 to 2013, it also published a comic book series based on Popeye, in an attempt to recreate the style of original creator E. C. Segar.
The company also began reprinting Bud Sagendorf's early issues of the first Popeye comic book series (1948-1984), as Popeye Classics.
In 2013, IDW published Mars Attacks Popeye, one of six crossovers comprising their Mars Attacks IDW event.
